In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of 91.3FM CJTR Regina Community Radio, the Conservatory is partnering on two special panel discussions. Hosted by Erika Folnovic, the Conservatory Program Coordinator and a current CJTR programmer, a variety of volunteer radio show hosts and programmers will engage in special guided discussions examining the role of CJTR in the community in Regina, SK.
In Creating Dialogue in the Community, we will discuss community and what role we play as community makers when we engage in the act of creating and broadcasting our radio programs. Who are we engaging? How does valuable engagement happen? How do we create a safe space for active discussions? Volunteer programmers in this panel discussion include:
Dr. Charity Marsh (she/her) is Director of the Humanities Research Institute and Director of the IMP Labs. She is also a Professor in Creative Technologies and Interdisciplinary Programs in the Faculty of MAP. In collaboration with her two children and Evie Ruddy (they/them), she hosts Imagine This! a program that is a combination of music, stories, and adventures specifically designed for kids of all ages. New shows of Imagine This! air biweekly on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30-4pm.
Shannon Sweeney is currently serving as the Vice President of the Board of Directors at Radius Communications, Inc. Shannon hosts The Mystic Voyage, which presents a blend of jazz, soul, and hip-hop with an upbeat vibe to get you pumped up for the day. The Mystic Voyage airs on Thursday mornings from 7-9am.
Dane Imrie is a host on The Capital. On Saturdays you can hangout with Dane as he shares his picks for the best new songs and funny stories he’s listened to over the week. The Capital airs on Saturday afternoons from 4-6pm.
The second panel discussion is on Tuesday, March 22 and the theme is Performing with Sound.
The Conservatory is also partnering with CJTR on special radio camps for youth. Find more information about current camp opportunities available on our website: Conservatory Creative Camps.
PLEASE NOTE: Panel discussions will be 60 minutes with an additional 30 minutes at the end for an audience Q&A with panelists. Discussions will be recorded to be broadcast on air at CJTR on a later date. If you are muted with your video off during the Zoom call, you will not be recorded. Questions can be sent in the chat.
This is a REMOTE DELIVERY program. There are NO meetings in person (or face-to-face). Participants will have an online classroom in CCE Community where you will go to find Zoom links and any class announcements.
Note about CCE Community: If you were in group programs or private lesson in 2020-22, you will already have an account created. If not, we will create an account for you and log-in information will be e-mailed by our Student & Instructor Services Non-Credit Office prior to the course starting.
