Description
This link is for registration from January - June, if you wish to register just for fall term
(September - December), please go to the Regina Community Orchestra -Fall Only course.
The Regina Community Orchestra
welcomes seniors, adults and young amateur musicians interested
in playing orchestral music in a fun and safe environment. The
orchestra provides an opportunity for its members to play music that
they enjoy, develop their musical skills further, socialize with
others having similar interests, and perform for the community at
large.
This group currently rehearses with the Conservatory Youth Orchestra members (ages 12-16). See our Musicianship & Theory section of our website for all of our music ensemble courses.
This
course is open to anyone without audition; however, basic
instrumental and musical skills are necessary since the orchestra's
principal objective is performance rather than instruction. All
orchestral instruments are welcome! This program is open to all
players on orchestral winds (clarinet/oboe/flute/piccolo/bassoon),
brass (trumpet/tuba/baritone/trombone/french horn), string
(cello/violin/viola/double bass/harp), and percussion
(timpani/marimba/xylophone/piano and others).
This group is directed by Adrian Casas.
If you have no prior experience and are hoping to learn a new instrument, please see Private Lessons at the Conservatory or other Group Programs for beginners.
Note about UR Community: If you do not already have an account our Student & Instructor Services Non-Credit Office
will create an account for you or your child and log-in
information will be e-mailed prior to the course starting. All
weekly course information from instructors should be posted and
communicated in this online classroom. While this is not a
hybrid program, if participants are ill or out of town, you could
join this class via Zoom. Classrooms in UR Community will have a
link to a Zoom classroom. Please just notify your instructor
at least one business day before your class if you need to join
class this way to ensure the instructor can accommodate your
request.
